A Karachi court has summoned a senior employee of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in connection with an investigation into allegations made against NAB Chairman Mufti Qavi and Zubair :

Saturday, a Karachi sessions court gave an official of the Federal Investigation Agency's Cyber Crime Cell a notice to show cause for his inaction on a court order concerning an application seeking the registration of cases against National Accountability Bureau Chairperson Javed Iqbal, former Sindh governor and PML-N leader Muhammad Zubair, and cleric Mufti Abdul Qavi for "immoral" behaviour.

According to section 22-A of the Code of Criminal Procedure, an FIA employee was ordered to submit a full report and comments under section 22-A on the application filed by a citizen named Danish Shahbaz on October 15.

At the previous hearing, Additional Sessions Judge Kazi Shah Muhammad Azhar noted that SHO Inspector Imran Ahmed Khan appeared on behalf of the FIA official and requested additional time to submit the report and comments to the court. He issued the notice and summoned the deputy director in his personal capacity on Saturday.

The judge noted that the court had granted him additional time for filing since he had sought it.

However, the deputy director had not yet been in court or provided the report and comments when the case was finally taken up today.

Due to his non-compliance with the court order, the court summoned him on October 26 in his individual capacity to explain why he should not be prosecuted under Pakistan Penal Code sections 174 (non-attendance in obedience to an order from a public servant) and 175 (omission by someone legally obligated to do so to produce a document to a public servant).

FIA official Danish Shahbaz filed an application with the court asking the police to register cases against NAB chief Javed Iqbal, PML-N leader Muhammad Zubair, and cleric Mufti Abdul Qavi due to recent social media footage implicating all three of immoral behaviour. The court ordered the police to register cases against all three.

Following an investigation, the application sought that all three males be booked under Pakistan Penal Code Section 496-B (fornication) and Zina Ordinance.
