ISLAMABAD :

President Dr Arif Alvi announced on Monday that the government was taking initiatives to make it easier for entrepreneurs and the industrial sector to develop their business operations in Pakistan.

He explained that the government was engaging in intense trade diplomacy to help local businesses and merchants get access to new and better markets through Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) and Preferential Trade Agreements (PTAs) (SMEs).

In a meeting with the president of the Jhang Chamber of Small Traders & Small Industry (JCST&SI), Liaqat Ali Malik, the president of the Jhang Chamber made these remarks.

Attended by JCST&SI Senior VP, VP Muhammad Adnan Sarwar, Abdul Quyoum, and other executives.
JCST&SI CEO Liaqat Ali Malik informed President Alvi on the need of providing jobs for Jhang residents, and he thanked the government for establishing an industrial estate for the city's business community.

Meeting with delegation, president announced business climate and investment changes have begun. He said this during meeting with delegation.

It was also said that to help the industrial sector, the government was working to reduce production costs so that companies could compete on the global market.

As a result, he said, the government was encouraging young people to start their own enterprises and had set up Rs100 billion for the Kamyab Jawan Program to help them get started.

According to him, trade associations should play a role in encouraging business owners to pay taxes and supporting the government's efforts to chronicle the economy.

The president acknowledged JCST&SI's contribution to the economic growth of the country and promised the group his cooperation in resolving their issues.
